			Alamo's AdvantEdge workshop provides people with powerful processes to more effectively manage the issues that continually confront individuals. AdvantEdge focuses on getting people to ask the right questions and focus their thinking. The workshop offers a valuable set of tools to complement and enhance basic quality/continuous improvement techniques. Objectives At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to: Stay focused on key objectives Work more quickly and effectively, in teams and individually, on complex and simple problems, decisions, and plans Resolve concerns based on facts (not guesses or assumptions) and clarify missing information Devise solutions and improvements that address the real causes of performance Implement solutions and improvements more effectively through better risk management Communicate more clearly, utilize people and time more efficiently Outline AdvantEdge is presented in four modules: Root Cause Analysis, Decision Making, Plan Analysis, and Situation Review. The modules can be delivered together or independently. Root Cause Analysis - A deductive approach, that enables a team or individual to find causes through factual analysis rather than brainstorming. Steps include: State the Problem or Opportunity Describe the Facts: What? Who? Where? When? How Much? Identify Unique Features and Events Generate and Test Likely Causes Select Most Likely Cause's Decision Making - A straightforward set of questions that guide a team or individual to a more objective, balanced choice. Steps include: Clearly define the Decision Purpose Describe Criteria for a successful outcome Analyze Alternatives comparatively against the criteria Preview Potential Problems and how they can be managed Plan Analysis - A process that helps to maximize success, by identifying necessary actions in advance that can prevent problems and limit damage if they do occur. The process also addresses the up-side potential of a plan or project, enabling participants to identify and capitalize on possible opportunities. Steps include: Focus on the specific objective of the plan/project Define necessary tasks, responsibilities, and timing Identify potential problems and opportunities Develop actions for timely response to the problems and opportunities Situation Review - A process that goes beyond Pareto Analysis by incorporating multiple factors in setting priorities. Steps include: Identify, clarify and separate concerns Analyze priorities for action, based on criteria such as impact, urgency trend Determine the best technique to address the high priority issues. Audience AdvantEdge is appropriate for executives, managers, professionals, improvement team members, and other key individual contributors. The program is most effective if small intact teams are available to work together on real world issues. Delivery Alamo Learning Systems offers three delivery options: traditional instructor-led training (ILT), eLearning or a combination of both (blended). ILT is presented via the classroom, within a designated time and with a live, qualified Alamo facilitator. An advantage to our ILT is it offers extensive practical application opportunities. eLearning is presented via the computer and taken at your own pace. One advantage to our eLearning is accessibility to everyone – section 508 compliant and integration with any SCORM compliant learning management system or ours. A train-the-trainer program is also available and enables you to make the skills a core element of your in-house training program.
